And my phone died.
And I got bad news at work (not fired or laid off, just have to do an on-call thing where we literally won’t be able to leave the house for 1 full week every 3 months).
So, anyone have any good news or something cheerful?

Sorry about the BFN but as you know…10dpo is still early on.
How can they spring this “on call” thing on you out of the blue? Especially one that seems so limiting?
The company I work for basically sells an “emergency alert” system, so if their system goes out, the alerts don’t go out, which means things like Amber Alerts and severe weather alerts/warnings (Tornados, etc) don’t get set out when they should, which is a very bad thing.
Because of that, a half-hour is too wait if a problem needs to be fixed ASAP. Basically, whoever is on-call lives within feet of the phone for the whole week. I’m terrified at the idea of being unable to walk my dog more than a half mile.
Basically my group is a satalite group and before it had been only for people at headquarters, since there is an on-call phone. But since they’re hemorrhaging people down there, they need us to pitch in.
I really wouldn’t mind doing it a couple times until they build their staff back up, but for it to be a permanent thing, my wife asked me about looking for a new job. Which I can’t do career wise now, I have to put in at least three years here.
I agree with Lindsay. 10dpo is super early. Don’t count yourself out yet. No good news on my end. I had a crappy day today too. Well I hope that being “on-call” isn’t too bad. A week is a long stretch to be on pretty much house arrest. Why did they do it like that?
It is early, especially since my random cramping was early 9dpo, that might have been implantation theoretically.
I’m honestly more bummed about the phone breaking. My anxiety was bad today, and normally I take a couple breaks to text my wife or play games on it when I’m stressed and I wasn’t able to.
Boo. wherethehellismatt.com makes me feel happy when life is getting me down.
That made me smile 🙂 Thanks.
I’m sorry that you had a bad day. 😦 As others have pointed out, you likely tested too early. I hope that tomorrow will be a better day for you!
Thanks 🙂
Sheesh, that’s a long time to be stuck at home! Hopefully, it won’t last that long!
I hope it’ll be over after only a couple times.
HUGS!! Sorry about having a sad day! I hope you just tested too early! ❤
I hope so too, but I have started spotting so this month may not be meant to be the month.
Wait a day (or 2!) and test then. It’s so much better to deal with the angst of not knowing another day then getting another bfn because you were testing too early. I’m convinced those ‘stats’ about how many people get a BFP blah days before their period is just a con to get all of us to test multiple times – thereby making loads more money out of us!
True, and frer are pretty pricey if you use them very often
I’m so sorry you had such a bad day. On the work front, fortunately, it’s just a week every quarter. They cant possibly expect people not to walk their dogs & go to the grocery store during that week. Surely, there is a bit of wiggle room. You should read this article from the Society for HR Management: http://www.shrm.org/templatestools/hrqa/pages/cms_020208.aspx. I hope today is a better day!
Today is. I’m spotting which is sad as it probably means I’m going to bleed this month, but I’m not as stressed for whatever reason. I can’t view that article, it seems to require a log in. Is there anyway you could email me the contents? If it’d be too much if a bother don’t worry about it.
I just emailed you a pdf of the article. I’m sorry to hear about the spotting, but you’re right not to stress–if only we had more control over these things. If only we could control our internal organs as well as we can control our motor skills.
Sorry to hear it was negative.
