Still here for now

I don’t know what’s going to happen. I just know it’s not TTC for now at least. It’ll be good if we have money occasionally going to other things like home repairs, and advertising for Latte’s business, for a while. We’re still talking about foster-adopt (but not this year or even probably next year). I wish we knew more people who went that route…

I may prune my reader. If you notice I’m not commenting much anymore, it’s not because I don’t care, it’s because babies/pregnancies are hard for me right now.

I’ve been pretty nonexistent lately. Our last cycle was a bust and then our next attempt was called off due to low follicle count. We are now going the foster to adopt route for now. Or just adoption of a legally free child from the foster care system. It was pretty devastating to put TTC on the back burner (especially because we have 1 vial left) but there’s still hope for a family yet.

    Sending you hugs my friend.

I’m so sorry. And it makes total sense that you would need to limit your exposure to stuff that feels hard. Take care.

I made my old blog private “me only” after 3yrs of being unsuccessful. I waited a year and started this blog, sometimes we just need to be away from all the stress. *hug* We plan to go foster-adopt once we move to a house with more space (later this year). I don’t know if you’ve found the blog “Fosterhood” but she writes about foster and recently adopted a child she had fostered for almost a year.

  5. ❤ I understand. I've been tempted to prune mine as well, because sometimes seeing so much success can really hurt instead of bring hope.
Whatever your decision, I really appreciate you sharing your journey with us. ❤

I’m so sorry – I’m sad for you and hope you’ll continue to share your journey, wherever it leads you.

  7. Well it’s been a pleasure following along on the journey! You guys are fun and funny, I hope you’ll stay around in some respect, but I’m sure anyone would understand and respect your need to step back. Enjoy spending your money on different ventures and I hope they work out! And I hope you find some guidance/support with foster/adopt

Prune away. Thank you for sharing your journey. I hope the path becomes clear soon and you enjoy your adventures in the meantime.

  9. I totally understand the need to prune. The wife and I are going to an informational meeting for foster/adoption this weekend! I’ll post more about it later.

  10. I get how hard all the announcements and baby updates can be. Sending you love and wishing you the best.

  12. I totally understand. We’re heavily in debt because of this shit. It takes over our lives. Be well. Xx

  14. I’m sorry love. Prune away!

  15. I’m so sorry. I remember feeling how you are feeling right now. We never went the foster/adopt route, but I did have to come to terms with never carrying a baby. It took a long time to get over, but now I am very happy with the way everything worked out. I hope you find your way to happiness soon…whatever that entails. Good luck.

  16. If you have questions about foster-adopt, we are in the throes of that now…we are getting ready to TPR Mary’s mom in a few weeks, and then the adoption stuff will start, but we’ve been fostering almost 2 years now, so feel free to ask any questions that you may have. It varies slightly from state to state but for the most part, it’s all the same…

I do have a ton of questions. I may reach out to you at some point. Was Mary the first kid you fostered?

      • NO, we’ve fostered 3 other children. 3 1/2 year old twin girls and a 7 month old…but sure…i’ll answer any questions you have!

        • DeCaf says:

Are you fostering with the goal of adoption or are you fostering to foster? I think my state has it basically that if you want to foster adopt you can either directly do that with older kids or you can just sign up to be a foster home and let your social worker know that you would prefer children who are more likely to become legally free, not that there are any guarantees. Is your state similar?

Totally understand. Good luck and positive thoughts.

  18. Thanks for letting us know! 🙂 This is an amazing Journey!!! 🙂 ❤
